Prisons Commissioner refutes ‘Arabic books ban’ allegation

The Prison Service is refuting an allegation made by the Islamic Front about banning Arabic books coming into the Prison.

Commissioner of Prisons Gerard Wilson says the prison service does not discriminate against any religious practices, as all inmates are treated impartially.

He says if the head of the Islamic Front is serious about his allegations, he is willing to meet with him, the delegated Imam of the Remand Prison and some disciplined Muslim inmates to discuss his concerns.
