A Princes Town man faces a $1,000 fine or three months’ imprisonment with hard labour over the wasteful employment of police time.
21-year-old Junior Ali pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared in court yesterday.
He was arrested after he told police that on Monday 29th March 2021, he was taken to a bushy area off Railway Reserve Road against his will by two men in a black Nissan Tiida.
Ali also reported that he was hit with a gun butt before being tied to a tree and robbed of $3,700.
He told officers that he freed himself and ran to safety however, after enquiries, he was arrested and charged.
