Opening of a portion of the Priority Bus Route has been extended to noon today.
According to the Ministry of Works, this is from Port of Spain to Macoya Junction and only applies to light motor vehicles.
It says the extension is to facilitate restoration of the road network to a state of normalcy in the shortest possible time.
Meanwhile, the Ministry says floodwaters in the vicinity of the Grand Bazaar Interchange have subsided so vehicles can move along smoothly.
The roadway was impassable up to late yesterday after heavy persistent rainfall from the passage of Tropical Storm Karen.
