Police warn of increased road exercises over New Year’s weekend

There will be an increase in road policing activities over the coming days as the TTPS looks to crack down on irresponsible road usage.

In a media release, the TTPS says Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has instructed all Traffic and Highway Patrol Units to carry out DUIs and speed enforcement exercises.

Officers have also been told to continue enforcing the laws regarding the illegal use of fireworks and breaching COVID-19 regulations.

The TTPS is appealing to drivers to ensure they celebrate the New Year in a safe and responsible manner.
