Police plan increased foot patrols in Eastern Division for Christmas season

An increase in foot patrol officers is part of a crime plan being rolled out by the North-Eastern Division for the Christmas season.

Speaking at the launch of the plan in San Juan today, Senior Superintendent Winston Maharaj stated that there will be more officers patrolling between 7am and 11pm daily.

He believes this will act as a deterrent to would-be bandits and will also help with traffic management and adherence to COVID-19 regulations.

The senior officer warns there will be also be an emphasis on indiscriminate parking.
