Police find marijuana worth $304,000 in Mayaro


    More than $300,000 worth of marijuana was seized during an anti-crime exercise in the Eastern Division.

    The TTPS says it was conducted at Point Radix, Ortoire Village, Mayaro on Thursday 8th August, 2019 and led by acting Senior Superintendent Deosaran.

    It also included officers from the Special Operations Response Team, Air Support Unit and the Rio Claro and Sangre Grande Police Stations.

    They went to a forested area where they found two bags containing 30.4 kilograms of marijuana.

    The drugs, according to the Police Service, has an estimated street value of $304,000.
