Police: Domestic violence treated seriously, regardless of gender

Police say men’s reports of domestic violence are treated in the same manner as reports by women.

At today’s weekly TTPS media briefing, Sergeant Larry David of the Special Victims Department said police are aware of the public’s dialogue about the treatment of male domestic violence victims.

He notes that officers of the Department will address all reports seriously, regardless of the gender of the victim.

The Special Victims Department places Child Protection Unit, Gender-Based Violence Unit and Sexual Offences Unit under one umbrella.
