Police destroy $5M in marijuana in Maracas


    Five million dollars worth of marijuana trees and seedlings has been destroyed in Maracas.

    Yesterday, police went to approximately seven miles into a forested area and found 5000 fully grown marijuana trees and 200 seedlings.

    The items were eradicated but no arrests were made.

    The exercise was spearheaded by Senior Superintendent Maharaj, Superintendent Maynard Wilson, and Superintendent Alexander and involved members of the North Eastern Division CID, North Eastern Division Gang Unit, North Eastern Division Task Force, Air Support Unit and members of the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit.
