Of the 250,000 names put forward for curfew passes in the past 30 hours, the Police Commissioner has approved 5,000.

This has been revealed by Mr Gary Griffith during today’s TTPS media briefing, as he claims that some organizations are asking for passes for all employees.

However, he states that passes will only be given to persons who absolutely need to be out and about between 9pm and 5am.

Mr Griffith assures that police officers have been told how to deal with certain situations involving citizens without curfew passes.

Meanwhile, Mr Griffith says, while there are features on the passes to avoid illegal duplication, the TTPS is looking to utilize technology.

The curfew, in effect since midnight on May 15th, 2021, is part of a State of Emergency aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19.
