Police and soldiers helping tackle criminality inside prisons

Police officers and soldiers have been deployed to help the Prison Service tackle criminals who continue to operate while incarcerated.

National Security Minister Stuart Young recently met with heads of the defence and protective services and urged them to support prison officers in light of recent threats to their lives and that of their families.

He believes the multi-agency approach will help combat the scourge of criminal activity within the Prisons.

Minister Young also assured the Prisons’ Commissioner that Government will continue to support officers and work to improve their safety and working conditions.
