Poland: Rescue effort on for two trapped in cavern

A rescue operation is underway in Poland’s Tatra mountains after two cavers got trapped in a cavern.

According to Reuters, more than two dozen workers are involved.

The two became trapped after a narrow tunnel was flooded with water, blocking their exit.

A representative of the rescue service said it had not yet been possible to establish contact with the two cavers.

Concern is growing for their health due to their long exposure to extreme conditions.
