Point Fortin man due in court after alleged cell phone store theft


    A Point Fortin man is due in court following the alleged larceny of over $35,000 worth of cell phones from a Chaguanas store.

    The accused was arrested on Monday 4th January 2021 after investigations into incidents on December 15th and 16th last year.

    According to police, a suspect purchased the phones, valued at $35,100, from the store, paying via bank transfer.

    However, the transaction was declined after the suspect had already left the store with the merchandise.

    After his arrested, he was charged with two counts of larceny by trick and is expected to stand before a Chaguanas Magistrate today.
