PM reiterates pepper spray stance


    The Prime Minister reiterates that, regarding the regulated use of pepper spray, he will be guided by experts and “other considerations.”

    Yesterday, Police Commissioner Gary Griffith revealed his intention to ask government to allow a controlled distribution of the prohibited items in a bid to protect persons, particularly women.

    Dr Keith Rowley was questioned today in Parliament by Opposition MP Dr Roodal Moonilal on his latest stance on the matter.

    The Police Commissioner’s initial statement suggests a recommendation for pepper spray to be given to registered users, similar to a Firearm User’s Licence
