Spiritual Shouter Baptists have shown that religion is a living, dynamic and absolutely necessary process.

This is the view of Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley in his message for Spiritual Shouter Baptist Liberation Day.

He acknowledged that the community, thanks in part to government funds, will celebrate in their festivities at the newly built Administrative Complex in Couva.

He hopes that within the near future their celebrations will be conducted within the walls of the Spiritual Shouter Baptist Cathedral.

Meanwhile, the Opposition Leader says Spiritual Shouter Baptist Liberation Day celebrates the resilience and perseverance of a community that has faced countless challenges and injustices over the years.

However, Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar says her party has always been a champion of the rights of marginalised communities.

In fact, she reminds that the UNC in 1996, successfully advocated for the day to be declared a public holiday.

She also notes that her government built the first-ever primary Shouter Baptist school and the first-ever Shouter Baptist ECCE school.
