PM invites election observers from CARICOM, Commonwealth

    Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has written to CARICOM and the Commonwealth formally inviting them to send election observation missions for the upcoming General Election.

    According to a release from the Office of the Prime Minister,  the letters were addressed to CARICOM Secretary-General Irwin La Rocque and Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland QC.

    The missions are being invited to observe the processes and operations in the Elections carded for August 10th, 2020.

    This move meanwhile comes on the heels of a call from the Opposition Leader for international observers to be invited for the poll.
