The Prime Minister is defending his last reappointment of Marlene McDonald but admits in hindsight that it was a bad judgement call.

Speaking at the Post Cabinet Media Briefing today, Dr Keith Rowley says, Ms McDonald, who was recently charged with conspiracy to defraud the Government, money laundering and misbehaviour in public office, was in the past exonerated by the Integrity Commission.

Despite previously criticizing the commission, the PM stood by its decision and brought back the MP while police continued its own probe.

Dr Rowley also addressed Ms McDonald’s role as MP for Port of Spain South.
