Decentralization sustained Port of Spain’s decay, according to the Prime Minister, who has revealed plans for the city’s revitalization.
Dr Keith Rowley spoke this morning at a public forum on the plans for the capital and noted that public/private partnerships will be utilized.
He took issue with a previous government policy of spreading services away from Port of Spain.
In an attempt to reverse what he has deemed to be decay, Dr Rowley said a number of catalyst projects have been identified.
Dr Rowley believes the decay of Port of Spain manifested in several ways, including crime, reduced population and decreased private investment.
