PM announces impending shutdown of non-essential activities

From midnight on Sunday, non-essential activities will be forbidden, in a bid to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

A list of what is deemed to be non-essential will be released tomorrow, with the measure to remain in place until April 15th.

Despite this, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley said a “huge chunk” of the country will still have to operate in order to allow the provision of utilities etc to continue.

He also emphasized that this was NOT a state of emergency, but instead an expansion of previous restrictions
