A Piparo Mud Volcano Emergency Response Exercise has been scheduled for this Saturday.
According to the ODPM, the aim is to prepare residents and first responders for the possibility of a volcanic eruption.
The two-hour exercise starts at 1:30pm and will be conducted at the Piparo Community Centre.
Involved would be the ODPM, Defence Force, Fire Service, Health Ministry, Local Government Ministry, Education Ministry, Public Utilities Ministry, GMRTT and the Red Cross Society.
