The Penal/Debe Regional Corporation believes both Government and citizens can work harder and together to help its communities in 2019.
103FM News spoke with chairman of the corporation, Dr Allen Sammy, who says crime, flooding and lack of employment need to be addressed in the New Year.
He says the closure of Petrotrin will greatly impact the communities.
Dr Sammy says the response to natural disasters also needs to be looked at.
Dr Sammy believes community groups, who he says are already doing a tremendous job, can help deal with these issues – especially by improving its partnership with Government.
He remains hopeful, despite finances being hard to come by for the State – a situation he blames on mismanagement.
