Following a six-six tie in the Tobago House of Assembly Elections, the Progressive Democratic Patriots’ believes the national parliament will have to intervene.
At a media conference today, PDP Deputy Leader Farley Augustine claimed that, unlike Trinidad elections, there is no legislation to settle a tied poll.
He noted that inauguration is due by Thursday and while the 12 elected assemblymen will be sworn in, there could be a stalemate.
However, Mr Augustine says the national parliament will have to act in order to help Tobago solve the problem.
