PCs charged with threatening to fabricate evidence


    Three Police Officers from the Penal Police Station have appeared in court charged with misbehavior in public office.

    They are accused of threatening to fabricate evidence against a Penal man if he did not pay them $3,500.

    The accused are: 23 year old PC Brandon Fiddler who has two years service, 28 year old PC Denzil Seegobin who has four years service and 34 year old PC Osei Neptune who has five years of service.

    Fiddler is charged with corruptly agreeing to accept an inducement to forgo prosecution for marijuana possession, while Fiddler, Seegobin and Neptune, are jointly charged with illegally entering the premises of the victim and threatening to fabricate evidence against him.

    They appeared before Siparia Magistrate Margaret Alert yesterday – Fiddler was placed on $100,000 bail to cover his two charges, while Seegobin and Neptune were each placed on $75,000 bail.

    The cases were adjourned to April 2nd 2020.
