PC told to stay away from wife, son

A police corporal charged with two counts of common assault against his wife and 15-year-old son, has been ordered out of their home.

44-year-old Ellis Stewart was also instructed to stay 100 feet from the woman and boy as part of the conditions for his bail, which was set at $70,000.

He will re-appear before the court on September 29th.

Ellis, who was last attached to the Community Oriented Policing Secretariat, was charged following an incident on July 24th at his Maloney home.

His wife reported to police that he pushed her against a wall and pointed a firearm at her neck.
