Payments start for 18 applicants of tourism grant

    18 successful applicants of the COVID-19 tourism grant are in line to receive the first half of their allocations with payments having started on Monday.

    The $50m Tourism Accommodation Relief Grant seeks to provide financial support to businesses attempting to recover from the impact of the pandemic.

    According to the Tobago Tourism Agency Limited, the successful applicants are owners of properties including hotels, villas, self-catering apartments and guest houses.

    So far over 50 applications have been received by TTAL.

    Through the grant, property owners can access funding based on the number of guestrooms.

    There’s a maximum of $100,000 for 2-7 rooms, $300,000 for 8-50 rooms, $500,000 for 51-99 rooms, and $600,000 for 100 rooms or more.
