Several donations have been made by PAHO to T&T to help with mental health services, non-communicable diseases and data.
PAHO has provided eight laptops and 150 flash drives for data collection and delivery of mental health services while another laptop has been given for assessing OSHA risks for healthcare workers.
The organization has also provided 32,000 health lifestyle diaries and blood pressure trackers, 10 blood pressure pull ups banners and 50,000 flyers on the accurate ways to measure blood pressure.
These are for use by the Health Ministry to implement ‘HEARTS’ which is a WHO model for cardiovascular disease risk management focusing on improving the management of hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia at the primary healthcare level.
The items were purchased through Canadian and German grants, as well as PAHO grant funds for the HEARTS in the Americas.
