The UNC’s Barry Padarath says he is focused on campaigning for re-election as Princes Town MP, despite a move to have his nomination nullified.
Speaking last night at a UNC virtual meeting, he said he was not bothered by the attempts to obstruct his chances at the polls.
Advertisements were reportedly taken out and flyers posted in the constituency, claiming that votes for Padarath will be null, void and thrown away because his nomination is invalid.
Earlier this week, the PNM stated its intention to challenge the legitimacy of his candidacy, since he reportedly used a form that allowed his agent to sign on his behalf.
This form however can only be used if the candidate is out of the country.
Padarath was in T&T at the time, but in quarantine.
