OWTU willing to go to Industrial Court over new allegations of TCL retrenchments

OWTU wants to meet with Trinidad Cement Limited officials over retrenchments which have allegedly been earmarked for 12 workers.

This morning, union Chief Labour Relations Officer, Lyndon Mendoza, told members of the media that notice of the retrenchments was served on January 6th 2021.

However, he believes the move is unsubstantiated.

Mr Mendoza says the union has written to TCL outlining its objection and has requested a meeting, but to date have gotten no response.

103.1FM News is in the process of contacting TCL for a comment.
