Occupancy in the parallel health care system at 34%

    Overall occupancy in the parallel health care system is currently 34% however persons are warned that this can be easily reversed.

    Speaking during today’s health briefing was Principal Medical Officer, Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards.

    According to her, there has been a recent slow but consistent decrease in occupancy levels.

    According to Dr Abdool-Richards, only one facility for severely and critically ill patients is over the 75% caution threshold – the Augustus Long Hospital.

    She also gave an update on capacity in the Intensive Care and High Dependency units.
