NWRHA to investigate complaint about St Ann’s

An investigation has been launched to examine allegations of unprofessional conduct and a lack of proper care at the St Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital.

During a television interview earlier this week, Alison Bruce claimed nurses refused to give her information regarding her brother, who is a warded patient at the facility.

She also claimed that an assessment procedure which normally takes 45 minutes, instead lasted some four hours.

In a statement, the NWRHA says the patient in question was assessed, warded and had treatment initiated on May 6th.

It adds that it is committed to meeting with Ms Bruce to address her concerns.
