From May 1st, all pharmacy services at the National Radiotherapy Centre at the St James Medical Complex will be completely digitized.
The NWRHA says this achievement represents Phase 1 of a pilot project aimed at improving the patient experience and overall delivery of care at the Centre.
The digital pharmacy module is designed to provide an easy to use interface for pharmacy staff, and is expected to have a positive impact on hundreds of prescriptions filled on a daily basis.
This it says will allow for improved processes for record management and dispensing of medication, among other functions.
And over the upcoming months, the NWRHA will be exploring further options for implementation of other pilot projects towards the development and operation of a comprehensive grade electronic health record system for all units of the National Radiotherapy Centre.
