Political Leader of the National Solidarity Assembly Nirvan Maharaj is calling on all members of the Trade Union Movement to resign from all committees and prepare for an election.
Mr Maharaj says for too long trade unions have been ‘begging’ political parties for ‘scraps and handouts’ and believes it is time to seek political power.
Mr Maharaj also believes that the movement should also challenge political parties in marginal constituencies, which he thinks could cause quite a stir.
The NSA Leader says the Trade Union Movement cannot sit idly by on the sidelines and wait for incumbent Governments to help the thousands that have been retrenched.
He believes the time is now to help shape the political destiny of this country.
