Fishermen are physically unharmed after what they say is the latest attempted robbery at sea – however, they’re reiterating their need for improved security in open waters.
Last night, a report was made to the T&T Coast Guard which says it deployed patrols immediately to the Waterloo area.
Both the TTCG and President of the Carli Bay Fishing Association Imtiaz Khan today confirm that no one has gone missing and equipment remains intact.
However, Mr Khan says there needs to be a quicker response by law enforcement to give fisherfolk peace of mind.
The T&T Coast Guard says is maintaining safety and security through maritime security patrols within its area of operations.
