Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar has filed a motion of no confidence in National Security Minister, Stuart Young.

She accuses Mr Young of a failure to faithfully discharge his duties as Minister, with regard to crime and immigration.

In a release, she specifically targets the migrant registration policy and border security.

She claims the latter has allowed an influx of Venezuelan migrants and the development of a flourishing human and weapons trafficking network.

Mrs Persad-Bissessar also criticizes the exemption process for stranded citizens as being unfair and confused, with some citizens experiencing inexplicable delays while others seem to have no problems.

She says a full case will be presented in the Parliament outlining every instance where they believe he has placed T&T’s security and reputation at risk.
