From tomorrow, July 30th, no appointments will be necessary to access COVID-19 vaccines at all Drive-through Vaccination Facilities.
The Health Ministry says this also applies to the Mass Vaccination Facilities in Trinidad, except for the UTT Chaguanas Campus and the National Racquet Sport Centre, where 2nd dose AstraZeneca vaccines are being administered.
It says this initiative is aimed at increasing reach, accessibility and convenience for persons seeking to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
It adds that the move is also part of the “national strategy to counteract the impending negative impact of the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus”.
Thus far, T&T has not confirmed a case of the Delta variant, which was first detected in India and is considered more transmissible.
