NHC monitors tropical wave in the far eastern Atlantic


    1 – The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical wave located over the far eastern tropical Atlantic.

    It says the wave is producing an area of disorganized cloudiness and thunderstorms.

    Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for gradual development of this disturbance over the next several days, with a tropical depression likely to form by late this week.

    2 – A tropical depression could also form later this week near the Bahamas.

    The NHC says an area of low pressure is forecast to form by midweek as a tropical wave interacts with an upper-level trough.

    It adds that some gradual development of this system is possible thereafter, with a tropical depression possible as the system moves north-northwestward or northward across the western Atlantic.
