High priority has been placed on the safety and welfare of patients and staff at the North Central Regional Health Authority’s (NCRHA) healthcare facilities.
This assurance comes from its CEO Davlin Thomas, after bandits recently broke-in to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex and stole cell-phones and other valuables from sleeping patients.
He says over the past two years, the Authority has ramped up its defense with a 24 hour presence through electronic monitoring, CCTV, manned security posts and mobile patrols.
In fact, Mr Thomas says 16 persons have been arrested for various offences committed at its facilities over the past year.
He says 4 of them are currently before the courts on serious charges of break-in, vandalism, attempted larceny and tampering with vehicles.
