Mystar: Obstructing a police officer carries hefty fine

Citizens are being warned that obstructing a police from carrying out his or her duty is an offence carrying a $10,000 fine or 2-year jail term.

This warning comes from Acting Inspector Wayne Mystar who says police have been facing situations like this in communities across T&T.

He says it is also an offence to incite another person to resist arrest or assault or obstruct a police officer.

Mr Mystar says it can also be deemed an offence if someone refuses to help police carry out their duties if asked.
