MP urges residents to “protest in writing” about floodgates

Residents of Oropouche West are being urged to write directly to the Works Minister to have floodgates in the constituency fixed.

MP Dave Tancoo made this plea in a Facebook video today in which he said that the gates at Tulsa Trace, Woodland and St John Trace are in “desperate need of repair.”

He also stated that the associated pumps need fixing and warns that large parts of his constituency will be flooded this rainy season.

Mr Tancoo claimed that the Works Minister has refused to answer questions on the matter and called on residents to protest in writing.

He said persons can write directly to the minister, send letters to the editor, comment on social media and even speak out in call-in programmes.
