MP: PTSC discontinuation of bus service over Tableland roads shows “rural neglect”

These roads in Tableland have forced PTSC to discontinue certain bus services

An MP believes PTSC’s decision to stop its bus service from San Fernando to Mayaro and Guayaguayare, due to road conditions in Tableland, is a “graphic example of rural neglect.”

Mayaro representative Rushton Paray says this action would distress many working class persons who depend on the busses.

He claims that government has dismissed his appeals in and out of Parliament and has allowed the Naparima/Mayaro Road to worsen.

Mr Paray is urging the state to urgently undertake major infrastructural work along the roadway as maxi and taxi drivers are already reluctant to service the route.
