MP calls on government to address issuing affecting Agri Society

Government is being urged to deal with issues affecting the Agriculture Society’s ability to carry out its duties.

This call comes from Couva North MP Ravi Ratiram as he congratulated the newly elected society executive to be led by Darryl Rampersad.

He believes government has not addressed problems including allocating sufficient PSIP funding to develop and improve agricultural access roads, land tenure, putting idle lands to work, irrigation and drainage, protecting our fishermen both on land and at sea, praedial larceny and reductions in funding.

Mr Ratiram says these issues have mainly affected the members of the association and the latter will directly affect the society’s fulfilling of its mandate.
