Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal is calling on the Government to permit the use of non-lethal weapons in the quickest possible time.

The MP has weighed in, following the call for women in particular to have access to items such as pepper spray.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley told the Parliament yesterday that he will be advised by “appropriate experts.”

Dr Moonilal points out that Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has himself made a recommendation.

Dr Moonilal is also urging civic organizations to put pressure on the Government with regard to this issue.
