Morvant woman due in court on Monday for cocaine trafficking


    A Morvant woman is reportedly due in court tomorrow to answer a charge of cocaine trafficking, after she was arrested at the Piarco International Airport.

    According to a Newsday report, the 37 year old was at the facility around 6am on Thursday when Customs officers saw her acting suspiciously.

    They carried out a search and found 1.14 kilograms of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $529,689, strapped to her body in small plastic bags.

    She was taken to the Piarco Police Station where charges were laid.
