The Education Ministry has dismissed a rumour that a worker at its Head Office in Port of Spain has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a release it says a staff member was identified as part of a contact trace investigation, and that immediate action was taken to have a specialized crew conduct a sanitization exercise of all affected areas.
As for the temporary closure of the buildings over the last three days, it says this was due to issues with the air conditioning system and was not an order from the Health Ministry.
The Ministry says it will resume operations tomorrow, pending the completion of repairs.
It adds that information pertinent to this situation have been communicated to the Health Ministry, and it has been advised that instructions will be issued in writing, if it is deemed necessary to close the Education Towers.
