T&T’s ability to host a major cricket tournament in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic can only auger well for sports tourism in the country, according to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts.

In a media release this afternoon, Senator Randall Mitchell congratulated Trinbago Knight Riders on their 4th CPL title.

He says all major agencies provided the support necessary to ensure a smoothly and safely executed tournament.

He also notes that Sport Tourism is part of T&T’s post COVID-19 recovery as government seeks to stimulate economic activity with events at the community and international levels.

Mr Mitchell says his Ministry will work closely with the ministries of Sport and Community Development to develop a master plan to make T&T a top destination for Sport Tourism.
