Ministry: Principal says there was no shooting at San Fernando school

The Principal of Anstey Memorial Girls’ Anglican School in San Fernando is refuting reports of gunshots at the school this morning.

An Education Ministry media release states a written report from the principal contradicts a newspaper article which appeared this morning.

The report from the school’s head says around 9:02am an intruder ran through the compound, allegedly being chased by police.

He jumped a wall, exiting at the back of the school and at no time were there gunshots.

The Principal says students were safe and there was no pandemonium as reported by the newspaper.
