The Health Ministry says high public uptake of COVID-19 vaccines is one reason why some persons have been experiencing difficulties in securing appointments.
In a media release, the Ministry says this is in addition to the current vaccine availability.
It notes that regional health authorities have indicated that while the public has been able to book via phone and WhatsApp, most appointments are already filled as demand remains extremely high.
However, the Ministry assures that T&T will soon have access to more WHO approved vaccines and there will be an increased number of vaccine appointment slots.
Additionally, it is considering a transition to a first-come, first-served approach for the administration of COVID-19 vaccines in the future.
