Minister urged to address conditions at Carapichaima West Secondary

Calls are today being made for action to improve conditions at the Carapichaima West Secondary School.

103.1FM News understands classes are currently being rotated due to the dilapidated state of the building and its surroundings.

Photos sent to our newsroom show broken washroom stalls, graffitied walls, peeling paint, an unkempt yard and old school furniture scattered outside.

A stakeholder at the school claims a newer building stands right next to the current one, however this remains unfinished for unknown reasons.

Pre-fab classrooms established several years ago were allegedly shut down last term due to safety concerns, leading to the current rotation system.

Attempts to contact the Education Minister for a comment on the matter have been unsuccessful.
