The Health Minister is urging persons to avoid spreading misinformation about the availability of monkey pox vaccines.

Speaking at a media briefing today, Mr Terrence Deyalsingh pointed to comments which suggest that vaccines are easily accessible to T&T.

However, Mr Deyalsingh stated that there is one manufacturer of the vaccine, Bavarian Nordic, which has indicated that it is only willing to work with PAHO.

Previously, Mr Deyalsingh indicated that T&T has placed an order through PAHO for 2,000 shots, which UNC MP Dr Rishad Seecheran said would not be enough.

However, the Minister is now urging persons to join him in calling on larger countries to share vaccines with this country.
