Persons have turned up at banks with millions of dollars in cash and no proper explanation as to where it came from.
This revelation came from National Security Minister Stuart Young, who says others have also been trying to spend millions on cars and jewelry.
Mr Young was speaking during today’s post cabinet news briefing about the ongoing demonetization of the old $100 note.
Mr Young also revealed that so far, hundreds of millions of dollars in the new polymer notes have already been put into the public domain.
As for ATMs dispensing the new polymer note, Finance Minister Colm Imbert says many have begun to do so, however there is a delay with Scotia Bank machines.
