The three-member Cabinet sub-committee appointed to provide recommendations on T&T’s border situation will be meeting again this weekend regarding its mandate.
The committee was announced last Saturday by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley and consists of the Attorney General, the Health Minister and the National Security Minister.
They were reportedly asked to look at allowing the return of nationals without the need for an exemption, something that Dr Rowley referred to as “a cautious reopening”.
They were asked to report back in a week.
Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh gave an update on their progress during today’s COVID-19 health briefing.
T&T’s borders have been closed since March 23rd .
